Will Your Relationship Last? 6 Signs You’re Headed For Trouble

WILL YOUR RELATIONSHIP LAST

Human relationships can be fickle things. One minute, you think you’ve found the partner of your dreams, the next, it’s over. Relationship breakdown isn’t something that happens randomly. Instead, there are often tell-tale signs that suggest that you’re on the rocks. Will your relationship last?

You Have Different Financial Goals

Generally speaking, people maintain financial independence at the start of relationships. However, as things progress, they slowly become more intertwined with each other. Eventually, in long-term relationships, they make joint decisions, based on what is likely to benefit both parties the most.

However, if you both have different financial goals, that can put the brakes on your relationship. If one party is spending money like there’s no tomorrow while the other is saving diligently, the stress on the relationship can be too much to bear.

You Don’t Vent To Each Other Anymore

Venting is an important component of human relationships. It’s an opportunity for people to shed some of their frustrations in the presence of a sympathetic ear.

However, when venting no longer occurs, it suggests that the relationship is on the rocks. Partners are no longer running to each other for relationship advice. Instead, they’re seeking solace in other people. And that’s often a recipe for disaster.

You Feel Defensive All The Time

People should feel free to express themselves how they want in relationships. However, in some situations, they can feel like they are always on the defensive. And, again, that’s not a good sign. If you can’t be open and authentic in a relationship, it’s a sign of a controlling personality. Eventually, you will rebel and seek the openness you need elsewhere.

You Don’t Trust The Other Person

Trust is one of the things that, once lost, you can never recover. For instance, when marriages break down, family law solicitors often have to deal with the lack of trust. It is one of the biggest issues during breakups.

If you don’t trust the other person in the relationship, you are always suspicious that they have ulterior motives. You wonder where they are going and what they are doing all the time, which has a serious impact on your mental health. Not being able to trust a partner can send your anxiety skyrocketing.

You Don’t Talk About The Long-Term

When you first got into your relationship, it was natural for both you and your partner to talk about the long-term. However, as things progressed, those sorts of conversations began to dry up. Eventually planning three to five years down the line ceased to be something that you do.

When this happens, it is indicative that a breakup is imminent. When one or both parties stop talking long-term, it means that they no longer expect to be together.

You Don’t Make The Effort To See Each Other’s Friends And Family

Lastly, couples who are on the rocks don’t make the effort to see each other’s friends and family. Since the relationship isn’t particularly important anymore, it’s just not worth the fuss. Often, this will begin with excuses and then transform into outright refusal.

TMC #30dayswild Challenge

Filed Under: ADVENTURES, NATURE // May 17, 2021

It’s Almost June, which means #30dayswild is back! #30dayswild was set up by The Wildlife Trust to encourage young people to get out in nature. It’s where you to do one wild thing a day throughout the whole month: for your health, well being and for the planet. The Wildlife Trust provide packs and materials and you can still sign up and join in, it’s completely free! Once signed up, you will be able to download and print and abundance of material and things to do throughout the month of June.

Here at TMC, we wanted to encourage you guys to join in with #30dayswild -So we have decided to ditch the normal # challenge for the month of June and create #TMC30dayswild challenge!!

The idea, is that if you would like to join in – please let us know. We will then create teams by a name picker or out of a hat via Instagram live. Then, throughout the month of June, you and your team pick and choose different activities from the list to do. You post on your socials – either stories, or a grid post – tagging us at @thatmamaclub, as well as your team mates and using #TMC30dayswild – then they are all in one place.

We will then keep a tally of our teams scores, either in the form of whatsapp/instagram team chats. Then, at the end of each week – we will see who’s in the lead..making it a bit of fun! Then, at the end of the month, we will see which team has won overall.

HELP YOUR BABY TO GET A BETTER NIGHT’S SLEEP

HELP YOUR BABY

Becoming a mother can be a wonderful experience, but it’s really tough when your baby is up all night. Luckily there are lots of things you can do to help your baby to get a better night’s sleep.

 Create a routine

To help your baby get to sleep it’s important to create an effective bedtime routine. If your baby is too stimulated in the evening, they may struggle when it’s bedtime. The key is to focus on calming activities. Before bed, engage them in quiet and relaxing play, reading a book, singing, or cuddling.

Help your baby learn

When you notice that your baby is drowsy, this is the time to put them into their crib. Position them on their back, and allow them to get comfy. They might cry a little at first, but give them some time to adjust. If they do not stop crying you can return to the room and check they are okay.

According to Parents.com, you’ll need to put our baby into their crib when they have elevated melatonin levels, (aka when they first get drowsy). If you wait any longer your baby’s melatonin levels will get lower, making it harder for them to fall asleep.

Try a pacifier

If your baby struggles to settle and drift off it can be beneficial to buy them a pacifier. The presence of a pacifier can feel comforting and help them to relax. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, using pacifiers at night can also ‘reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome,’ (Bundoo, 2021).

Create a comfortable space

As you can imagine, it’s important to create a comfortable space to help your baby to sleep. You’ll want the best crib, baby mattress, bedding materials, and perhaps a moses basket. When you’re shopping for baby items, take a look at Foryourlittleone. Here you’ll find plenty of supplies to create the perfect sleeping environment.

Keep the crib in your room at first

Experts recommend that you should keep the baby crib in your room for six months. After this time, you’ll be able to move the crib into the nursery if you wish. Keeping the crib in your room will give you peace of mind, and allow you to check on your baby with ease.

Maintain the correct temperature

To help your baby sleep it’s important to keep the right temperature in the room. An ideal temperature is somewhere between 67 and 73 degrees Fahrenheit. Maintaining this temperature will help your child sleep peacefully. Check the temperature before bed, and adjust if your baby feels too cold.

As a parent you’ll want to learn all you can about your little one, from baby sleep myths to breastfeeding tips. With the help of these ideas, you’ll ensure that your little one gets the best night’s sleep. You might find that your baby wakes up at night and sleeps in the day? If so, try to get a little shut eye when they are sleeping (if possible). If you’re finding it hard to sleep at night there are a few sleep meditation apps that may be of use.

Why getting outdoors is good for you We’ve all Why getting outdoors is good for you

We’ve all had those days where everything is going wrong, we’re all shouting and feeling frustrated. The best piece of advice I ever received as a parent is in those times, get outside. There is something about everyone getting fresh air, and the physical space around you that helps calm any situation.

Here are some more benefits to getting outside (whether it’s a walk or just sitting in the garden)

🐞Lowers your blood pressure, reduces stress and improves your mood.

🐞The fresh air also helps you sleep better

🐞Improves focus — Studies show that both adults and children who have difficulties focusing or controlling impulses are better able to concentrate after being in nature.

🐞Helps us heal quicker - patients who spent time outdoors during their recovery required fewer painkillers, had fewer complications and experienced shorter hospital stays.

🐞Tops up your vitamin D - Which is an important vitamin for overall health, as well as strong and healthy bones

🐞Improves your immune system - A study published in 2010 evaluated the effect of forest bathing on immune function. For a group of Japanese adults, a three-day trip to the forest increased the number of white blood cells in their blood. These levels of white blood cells stayed elevated for more than 30 days after their adventure in the woods!

🐞Fosters a better imagination and creativity in children

What are your favourite ways to enjoy being outside?

Nursery, school, homework, tantrums, playdates....

But you are more then "just a mum" and it is important to remember that!

It's fine to not be the same person as before, because let's face it we have been through something life changing as having a child.

But it's important to remember that we were all someone before we had children, and that someone is still inside you! We are all our own person and we have our own interests. Our own dreams! So remember who you are!

When I had my eldest I simply didn’t want to bre When I had my eldest I simply didn’t want to breastfeed. I had enough new things to learn (and a traumatic birth on top) so we gave formula from the start. For the sake of my own mental health, it was a decision I felt strongly about throughout pregnancy because I knew I would obsess and feel broken if breastfeeding ‘failed’

With the formula shortage crisis currently going on in America, there are many unhelpful comments telling people to just breastfeed instead. Apart from the fact you can’t just suddenly start producing milk, there are many reasons why some one may choose to use formula

🍼 They are taking a medication incompatible with breastfeeding

🍼 Their milk supply simply wasn’t enough and couldn’t be improved

🍼 Their baby has severe allergies (CMPA)

🍼 They have adopted or used a surrogate

🍼 They are a trauma survivor and breastfeeding is triggering for them

🍼 They don’t feel comfortable breastfeeding in front of others

🍼 They actually pump and give that in a bottle so that they can rest and let others take a turn

🍼 Likewise they have chosen to combi-feed

Did you use formula for your baby? Let’s share our stories so others don’t feel afraid or ashamed to say they choose to use bottles
