It’s festival season! Which means that it’s time to get prepared to have lots of fun. If it’s your first time going to a festival with kids, we thought we’d put together a few tips on how to survive festivals with kids!
Festivals will definitely be a different experience when you have children. But we can confirm, it’s still just as enjoyable if you’ve got the right kit.
Snacks
…and plenty of them! Festival food can be super expensive and the queues can be long. And children always want food/drink right at that very moment, so a rucksack full of food will never go amiss.
Wipes/Hand Sanitiser
Glitter, mud and face paint. Key ingredients to having messy fun at festivals. So it’s always a good idea to have some wipes on hand to hose them down at the end of the day
Be flexible
This is probably the most important. Festivals can be an overwhelming experience so routines you normally have will go out they window. They may stay up later to enjoy the music, they may have a cat nap in the day when they normally wouldn’t. Have a loose plan of what you’d like to do/who you’d like to see but try not to be upset if it doesn’t happen.
Pack Layers
The temperature can really drop at night! Don’t forget those jumpers if you’re staying up late to watch the music.
Be Prepared for ALL Weathers
In the UK there’s one thing we can be certain of – the unpredictability of the weather. So make sure you have all bases covered.
Festival Trolley
Investing in one of these is always a good shout. You travel quite a good distance when at a festival so with these you can bung all the supplies/kids/chairs in, and it’s easy to tow around.
Relax
Relax the rules and expectations a little bit. Staying up late or eating ice creams all day long won’t hurt.
