Hello Mama, this one is all about you! It’s easy to forget about yourself, especially during a busy summer. There are some small summer selfcare things you can do to take better care of yourself, and brighten up your day.
New Morning Routine
With no school run, and possibly some time off work, you’ve got the opportunity to create a new morning routine.
Maybe a yummy smoothie to start your day? Or a cup of coffee in the garden before the kids wake up.
Why not ditch the screen and pick up a book for a few blissful minutes escaping into another world? We have a a whole list of books to read this summer here – check it out!
Record The Memories
My best advice: document your days. Either in photos, or in a written journal. It will be great to look back on those fun moments together.
Stay Hydrated!
Do we need to explain this one?
Get More Sunshine
And I don’t mean hours and hours of sunbathing. But getting a decent amount of sunshine is good for you!
According to the NHS, from about late March/early April to the end of September, most people are able to make all the vitamin D that they need from sunlight.
The body creates vitamin D from direct sunlight on the skin when outdoors.
Vitamin D helps regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body, which are nutrients that are needed to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy. There’s also some evidence that vitamin D can play a vital role in your mental health, specifically with depression. More reasons to get outside and into the sunshine when you can.
Use Sunscreen
Just remember the sunscreen! 😘
Eat More Fruit
Eat more fruit! If there is ever a time when I can actually crave fruit, it is in the summer. Is there anything better then eating some juicy fruit after a hot and sweaty day?
Create a Happy Playlist
Cue the vibes and create a summer playlist. Music can make such a difference to your mood! We all have our own songs that makes us happy or brings back happy memories. So why not collect all those favourite happy songs in a playlist?
